Creation & Development

Embracing that many don’t study business in school, college or university, and, irrespective of a company or sector, there is often an assumption that individuals just understand business as they climb the corporate ladder, was pivotal. First delivered in October 2013, the initial 2-day course has metamorphosed into an academy style ILM Recognised 3-tier Business Mastery Programme.   “I wanted to craft something that was going to be fun and contemporary yet engaging and challenging” says Gillian. “Following an initial trial of the ‘one-off’ course, we actively encouraged feedback and this directly drove the development the programme, an unrestricted entry policy and the exterior accreditation by ILM.”

Content & Benefits

The structure, content, delivery and assessments have all been designed and aligned to specific learning objectives.  Using a variety of training methodologies students develop their knowledge and comprehension of the core pillars of business (e.g. management, operations, marketing and management).  This helps promote (Group/Company) collaboration and a sharing culture, more engagement and motivation towards company goals.

Student presentations, assignments etc. focus on areas that a business needs to improve and/or introduce. This results in graduates being able to contribute and influence the company’s financial goals, overall profitability and growth. Another key advantage is it identifies rising stars and/or leadership talent.

The benefits to a business are two-fold. For the individual, they have greater confidence in their skills, capabilities, knowledge, critical thinking, and commercial awareness. For the company, business behaviours, attributes and competencies are positively shifted, it encourages a more innovative and sharing culture, plus engagement and motivation towards company goals.

Recognition

ILM Recognised

In 2016, the programme was accredited Endorsed status by ILM. ILM, a City & Guilds Group business, is the UK’s leading provider of leadership, management and coaching qualifications.  In 2022, ILM launched ILM Recognised to replace and improve their previous Endorsed service. ILM Recognised is the validation of a bespoke in-house leadership and management programme by ILM against a set of global quality standards. As a result, the Business Mastery Programme  was re-assessed against the new ILM Footprint, the requirement used by ILM to determine whether the content of a programme is suitable for ILM Recognised accreditation.  The programme was awarded ILM Recognised status in 2022.
